But just so you know, as promising as the Roborock S6 MaxV, one major drawback especially for pet owners is the lack of an external bin. Now, not only does the Ozmo T8+ have advanced features and similar cleaning ability as the S6 MaxV, but it also comes with an external bin for automatic dirt disposal. And the best part, the Ecovacs T8+ is currently selling at $449–$250 off its list price and $150 less than a certain Roborock S6 Max WITHOUT the base station.
Shark IQ R1001AE self-emptying robot vacuum: $334.99 (save $265)
If for the reason of pricing, ongoing expenses on dirtbags, unfamiliarity with the Ecovacs brand, or for other reasons at all, there’s an alternative in the Shark IQ. While not as intelligent or feature-rich as the Ecovacs T8+ or Roboroc S6 MaxV, the cleaning ability of the Shark IQ self-emptying robot vacuum is nonetheless impressive; pricing is great (you’ll be saving an additional $114 as against buying the T8+); there are no ongoing expenses on dirtbags (the external bin of the Shark IQ is bagless); on top it, Shark is a pretty popular brand in the cleaning industry.
Roborock S6 vacuuming and mopping robot: $419 on Amazon (save $230)
Think of the Roborock S6 robot vacuum mop as the S6 MaxV without the front-facing camera or electronic water tank. Or in other words, the Roborock S6 is a capable, worry-free robot. Now selling at $419 and besides you’ll be saving $230, the Roborock S6 robot vacuum is a quiet, powerful, and intelligent.
Roborock S6 Pure vacuuming and mopping robot: $399 on Amazon (save $200)
A Roborock product, the S6 Pure is currently selling with a $200 discount. For what it’s worth, the Roborock S6 Pure vacuuming and mopping robot is a slightly louder Roborock S6 with a smaller dustbin and larger water tank; everything else remains the same.
Roborock E3 vacuuming and mopping robot: $223.99 on Amazon (save $116)
Also from Roborock and to be clear, the E series are at least a few steps behind the S models of the Roborock considering they lack the mapping function and thus navigation and coverage are limited plus customization options to include area cleaning and room cleaning, no-go lines, etc. aren’t supported. So not as feature-rich, but with its suction of 2000Pa, utility side, and center brushes, clearly the cleaning ability of the E3 isn’t a gimmick.
I’d think you should get the Roborock E3 if you live in a single-level home, with a less complicated layout and fewer obstacles.
iRobot Roomba 960 robot vacuum: $299 at Best Buy (save $200)
The iRobot 960 robot vacuum, similar to the Roborock E3 paths logically and self recharges and resume but lacks the floor mapping function/customization options. It does have dual brushless rollers, though, which is a lifesaver for pet owners and homes with a lot of carpets. Additionally, iRobot offers an excellent product (with readily available parts and accessories) and customer support.
iRobot Roomba 980 robot vacuum: $399 at Amazon (save $200)
For $100 more, the iRobot 980 is essentially the 960 with longer run time and increased suction. Bigger battery capacity shouldn’t be such a big deal since the iRobot 980 self recharges and resumes, but increased suction can count if there are large carpeted areas or thicker rugs.
Coredy robot vacuums
Four Coredy floor robots are currently selling with a discount. What unifies these products is their pricing (typically under $200). Nuances include the suction number and remote/app-based controls and settings.
Perhaps it’s worth mentioning that these are entry-level robot vacuums. As such, mapping and customized cleaning aren’t supported, nor self-recharging and resuming, or self-recharging and/or emptying. Their movement is also based on bumping into objects. More so, their coverage and cleaning abilities leave a lot to be desired. Simply put, Coredy robot vacuums like most items in its category are more demanding.
